Oktoberfest

Luckily, the Oktoberfest took place right before our cold spell began. It offered pony rides, face painting, superslides, pumpkin decorating, and free lunch for everyone. Best of all, Mary and Katie got to spend the day with their friends Jasmine and Issabelle.

A Bad Hair Day

I have encouraged the girls to start brushing their own hair so I had no one to blame but myself when Kate walked out saying "it won't come out, Mommy." She was correct - it had to be cut out. I was proud of her for trying.

Our Favorite Family Fun

I wish that we could take all of our family and friends to fish and camp with us on the Poudre River in Colorado It is our favorite spot to visit and has a sense of peace and serenity that I haven't experienced elsewhere. I only hope the girls continue to love it as much as they do now.

Beautiful Fall Day

Uncle Bill came to St. Joe recently and spent a lot of time with the girls. They had a ball hanging out with their daddy's wombmate (for those who don't know - Tim & Bill are twins) and hated to see him go. We all hope that he will come back soon!

The merry-go-round

The local mall was recently renovated and added a merry-go-round to the center of the mall. Needless to say the girls run straight to it whenever we go shopping there. I have a hard time resisting their request when I see smiles like this.

Painting Fun

On Wednesday nights Tim teaches from 6:30 to 9:20 at the University so we consider it our "girls' night out". One of our favorite places to spend the evening is at a store called Mudders 'n Potters. This night Kate selected the letter "L" in memory of Lucky dog and her letter "K". Mary picked a rainbow because "seeing one in the sky makes her happy." After we are done painting we go for pizza at a restaurant next door. It doesn't get any better than this!

Spiderwoman

Kate has always loved spiderman and at times wears her spidey costume for the day. She definitely is a superhero in my book.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Gymnastics is on Mondays and Thursdays and we are at dance class on Wednesdays. It is amazing how quickly they learn at this age. Not that they are headed for Broadway tomorrow but they seem to remember their steps from week to week.

Gymnastics

The girls have begun taking gymnastics at a local gym. They absolutely love it - they will even ask as we are leaving "can we please come back tomorrow". This video is from their first class. It is a little shaky but I love watching them on the trampoline so I wanted to share it with everyone. As you will see, Kate marches to her own drum as usual and Miss Milly (the teacher) deserves a gold medal for patience in dealing with all of these rugrats.

Enjoying the last days of Summer

Mary & Katie took advantage of a warm, sunny afternoon by enjoying the simple pleasures of a sprinkler. I hope they always remember these moments. I know I will.

Shannon's Birthday Party

The girls attended a party of their friend, Shannon, from preschool. They played games, danced to music, and met new lots of new friends. Shannon has a puppy dog so they had great fun running after him.

Their First Mani/Pedi

We celebrated Grandma Meyer's birthday with a girls' special day. The girls got their first manicure and pedicure. Tim had some concern about starting them this early - the future for his pocketbook does not look good.

Happy 5th Birthday Mary!

My Aunt Chrissy and her daughter, Maria, are so wonderful! They hosted Mary's 5th Birthday party at the Gymnastics Center where Chrissy works. It is a world-class gym where olympians train. All of the cousins had a ball and topped off the event with an awards ceremony. And, of course, in our family - ever kid is a winner!

We love Miss Amanda!!

As every parent knows finding someone to love and care for your munchkins when you can't be there is priceless. Our angel is Miss Amanda who has the patience of a saint and a special gift for working with children. We thank our lucky stars every day that she is in our lives.

Born to Dance (a.k.a. Katiebug's First Dance Class)

Kate turned three on June 9th and began dance lessons days later. She has been watching Mary for the past year and asking to participate but she had to be three before she could begin. So she finally joins big sister and their good friend Shannon (the little girl on Kate's left). I think Kate enjoyed herself since she asked if we could come back tomorrow as the class was ending. The video isn't very long but it was so cute I decided to include it. Broadway here they come!

Firework Festivities

We spent the 4th of July holidays in Fort Collins. Uncle Bill was nice enough to shoot some fireworks off in the backyard. Kate enjoyed the lights but had to cover her ears when they got too loud.
